Freakily Funny

Meh, so it takes me a while to catch onto things. Hell, I only just “discovered” Lily Allen. Saw this on telly for the first time tonight…

Fucking funny, that’s all I can say. I think I totally lost it when the balloon made its appearance. Oh, and after searching for it on YouTube, it looks like it is another pommy export, just like Lily.

Internet Finds and Interviews

Since uploading my “Think Pink Fashion Extravaganza” video to YouTube the other day, I’ve been doing a little surfing through some of the other videos that are hosted by the service. I stumbled upon a short animated gem called “Cat Man Do” from Tandem Films. I can’t seem to work out how to embed the video in this post, so I’ll just give the URL to it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmwqpHsMExg. Check it out! It’s really quite amusing, and cute too.

Also from the same company is a shorter video extract from another of their animated films, “Little Things”. Like “Cat Man Do”, it features a person and their cat. It really tickled my funny bone. You can find the little film here: http://chillibean.net/perl/reels-10.0.pl?xhtml=JDCKVPPL&%3bT=WL.

Now, there is another reason for this post. This morning I had my interview for the part-time receptionist position at the local physiotherapist’s rooms. I was happy enough with the interview in the sense that I performed as well as I could throughout it. Out of the three people who sat on the interview panel, I liked the current receptionist the most, which is a good thing considering that if I was successful in gaining the position I would be working closely with her. I’m not quite sure what I thought of the physiotherapist herself as she seemed a little devoid of personality. The practice manager from the main office in Semi Big Smoke seemed nice enough. I guess what I am trying to say is, after the interview, I’m not really concerned if I get the job or not. I think it would be a reasonable sort of place to work in, however I don’t think it would be the best job I ever had. Either way, I’m not fussed. If I’m offered the job, then the extra money will be good. If I am not offered the job then, “Oh well … better luck next time.”

To finish off this post, I want to write about my day in general. Yep, here comes the crazy talk! I felt really off today. To be honest, for the first time in ages I think I was a little disso-y. Things just didn’t seem right, if you know what I mean. I saw fleeting images of gawd knows what out of the corner of my eye a few times throughout the day. To top that off, my mood was quiet depressed for most of the day. All in all, it was a crappy day and I am glad that the end of it is not that far away.

I’ve been mucking around this afternoon with my camera and couldn’t resist posting the following video. It’s kinda cute, if you are a dog lover that is.

The Pros and Cons of Washing

Current Mood:Ok emoticon Ok

Despite only being home for six days since my last little sojourn, my mind is firmly fixed on my next few days away. On Thursday afternoon (or maybe early Friday morning depending on my mood or GBF’s schedule) I will be driving down to the Sunshine Coast in the company of GBF to attend a wedding on the weekend. *waves to Joey* Ripper! I can’t wait!

Consequently, I’ve been madly washing clothes today in order to have clean, dry clothes ready for the big packing session tomorrow. Yes, I’m actually prepared this time around. Last trip away, I ended up packing a whole bunch of wet clothes due to the rain and not leaving enough time for the clothes to dry properly. It wasn’t pretty!

Yay to preparedness this time, but what is wrong with the weather lately? For months on end, no drop of rain ever reaches the parched earth in my little neck of the woods. Last time I did a huge wash in preparation for my last trip away, the skies poured with rain for days. Today I’ve done another massive wash and the skies are threatening rain again. What’s with that? I guess it just goes to show that I should go back to my small, intermittent washes. Maybe then the rain will stay away. Then again, rain in central Queensland is a highly valued phenomenon so maybe I should continue with my huge washes cycle.

There is a bright side to doing a hell of a lot of washing in the one day however. Today I reached the bottom of the dirty clothes basket. Okay, that is a bit of a lie. I didn’t actually reach the bottom of the basket through washing every piece of dirty laundry there was. Instead, I pulled out all the clothes from the basket only to have to repack it later with the dirty clothes I did not get around to washing.

Despite the way I reached the bottom of the dirty clothes basket, boy did I get a surprise. There were clothes down there that I never knew I had. I found several nice tops that I can’t remember buying at all. Reaching the bottom of the dirty clothes basket is as good as going out and buying new clothes. What fun!

So, in only one more sleep I will be packing my freshly laundered and hopefully dry clothes. I will be picking up GBF from his house, fuelling my car then heading south-east for my next adventure away from this insipid, little town. I can barely wait!

Last night’s post … *sighs* … you get that sometimes, hey. It’s not entirely another day, but let’s try something new. Well okay, not new, but stolen from Joey who stole the idea from Moth who stole the idea from this site … you get the picture.

Everything I Need to Know I Learnt From Buffy the Vampire Slayer:

  1. Testosterone is the great equaliser. It turns all men into morons. *nods*
  2. TV is the idiot box. The computer is the good box. Absolutely!
  3. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it. Mmm … yeah and it sucks!
  4. Variety is the spice of bad. LOL … well, why not.
  5. Blood is life. It’s what makes you warm, makes you hard and makes you other than dead. Umm … I guess so.
  6. Strong is fighting. It’s hard and it’s painful and it’s every day, but it’s what we have to do. I say meh! to strength.
  7. Love makes you do the wacky. Like stay in a place that is killing you? Oh yeah!
  8. Always carry a beeper in case the apocalypse comes. Well, why not? Doesn’t hurt to be prepared I guess.
  9. The world is what it is. We fight. We die. Wishing doesn’t change that. *rolls eyes* Yep!
  10. There comes a time when you either have to move out of your parents’ basement or buy yourself a Klingon costume and just go with it. *stifles a giggle*
  11. Connery is Bond. Accept no substitutes. What is it with me and older, balding men?
  12. When playing poker, always have a kitten up your sleeve. Again, it pays to be prepared … lol
  13. There is no problem that cannot be solved by chocolate. I’m not sure of that one, but it is worth trying.
  14. All men are beasts. Pretty much … at least in my experience.
  15. Beer is bad … and also foamy. And if you drink too much, it makes you puke. *shudders*
  16. There’s nothing like getting your ass kicked to make your ass hurt. Well, that has got to do it I guess.
  17. Fire bad; tree pretty. Well, in Australia … umm, yeah … too true.
  18. Tell people you love them over and over until it makes everyone uncomfortable … just in case. *thinks of an inebriated GBF* LOL Yep!
  19. Life is like becoming a vampire. It’s a whole bit sucking thing. *nods*
  20. Beware of bunnies! They are cute and furry so they must be the spawn of satan … lol.
  21. In life you can either do things the hard way or … actually, there’s just the hard way. So freakin’ true!
  22. Schools are just factories: spewing out mindless little automations … who go on to be very valuable and productive members of society and you should go. Gotta love the genius of Spike … err, Josh … whoever.
  23. Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned … no, really! *blinks* Sounds good, so I’ll include it in this list.
  24. No matter how good it sounds, a robot is not a good substitute for a real relationship. Well, I’m not entirely certain of that.
  25. You don’t always need a plan. Sometimes you can just be proactive with pep. Sounds good to me!
  26. Chicks really dig the billowy coat king of pain thing. Always did it for me.
  27. Life’s a show and we all play our part. Pretty much!
  28. Dancing and songs don’t always lead to hugs and puppies. No real comment here, but sounds about right to me.
  29. The “del” key on the computer keyboard does not stand for “deliver”. For the computer illiterate out there.
  30. Life’s not a song. Life isn’t bliss. Life is just this: it’s living. *sighs*
  31. You think you know what’s to come; what you are. You haven’t even begun. Yikes, does that constitute profoundness?

OMG, you are right Joey. It’s really, really hard to make it through the whole 150 without losing your concentration. Thirty-one is enough for me!

GBF and his friends are nuts and here is the proof. I’m not quite sure what they were on at the time, but it must have been some “good coffee”.
