Well, It’s the Second Week of September

Well, it’s been just over a week since my last update and I gotta admit that I haven’t been feeling as chipper as I previously have. My mood has taken a definite downturn. It could be worse though, so I won’t complain too much. It’s just that I’ve been feeling pretty good for so long that I miss the goodness a little. Oh well. Like I said … things could be way worse.

On a lighter note however, the health kick thing is going well. I’m still doing some form of exercise almost every day. It’s been a whole three weeks now. Woohoo! This could turn into a definite routine. :)

Additionally, my first week on the Tony Ferguson Weightloss Program went extremely well; perhaps even a little too well. I lost a whole 5kg. OMG!! Talk about a huge loss! I was certainly surprised, excited and a little dumbfounded when I hopped on the scales last night.

Although a 5kg loss in one week seems a little too extreme to me, apparently it is not unknown on the program. Apparently you tend to lose a lot of fluid during the first week on the program (I must have been one bloated chick!) and the losses return to a more normal 1kg or so each week during subsequent weeks. Bring on my week 2 weigh-in. Hopefully I will still be able to achieve a bit of a loss after such a huge one this week.

Anyway, that’s about it for this time around.

A New Category

I’ve added a new category to this little blog of mine … the “Diet and Exercise” category. You see, I’m still feeling pretty good overall. The double d’s have really taken a back seat of late. The vast majority of negative thoughts have largely disappeared. I haven’t self harmed in what must be several weeks. Things are going very well and I can’t believe this “going well” period has lasted for so long. I feel like I need to touch wood quickly so I don’t jinx myself. :)

With the double d’s not controlling my life, I find I have more energy. I’ve been exercising regularly for two weeks as of tomorrow. I’ve lost a little bit of weight (see the ticker at the bottom of the page) and have even lost a centimetre from around both my waist and hips. With the increase of energy I am even enjoying the little bit of exercise I am doing and I even tend to feel a little better physically after each exercise session. To top that off, I no longer experience the pain in my shoulders that I have unfortunately become so used to. Now, if I could only experience less pain in my ankles things would be really good!

In addition to the exercise I have been doing, I have decided to take a look at the junk I have been fuelling my body with. I have overeaten, binged and eaten all the wrong foods for a long time now and I am ready to make a change. I have decided to try my hardest to reach a healthy BMI, around 25 so all the health websites say. Currently my BMI is slightly over 40 which is well and truly in the obese range. I have a long haul ahead of me, that’s for sure!

To help with the whole unhealthy eating thing, I’ve decided to go on the Tony Ferguson Weightloss Program. It’s a low carbohydrate and low GI meal replacement program. Usually I am not a fan of meal replacement programs but this one has been around for a while now, is available at the Terry White chemist chain and looks okay. The recipes they have for the main meal of the day look quite scrumptious too, so that’s got to be a good thing. Mind you, it means that I will have to start cooking again. Bugger! :)

Anyway, I’ve ordered my first fortnight’s worth of sachets and associated paraphernalia and the package arrived this afternoon. That means that tomorrow is d-day. I start my diet tomorrow. From what I’ve read on the program’s website’s forum the first couple of days can be a bit of a bitch due to the whole caffeine detox thing (yep, that’s right … no more full strength coffee … only decaf) so wish me luck!
